Photo of the Day- Bokeh

"Bokeh is Japanese-originated concept, which describes the appearance, or “feel,” of out-of-focus areas. Bokeh is not how far something is out-of-focus, Bokeh is the character of whatever blur is there. Bokeh is archived by by a camera lens using a shallow depth of field."

I've seen a lot of people playing around with "bokeh" recently. I personally love all the bright colors and how they come together. These are pictures of the lights in my backyard. I guess this doesn't take much technical ability, if any, on a camera because you have your picture so out of focus, but I still had fun trying different levels of focus and seeing how it changed the size and shape of the circles. I am excited to try this technique out with our Christmas tree in December.

Very cool! Your photos make me want to try this. I will have to wait until our tree is up.
